Fresh Scholarships publishes scholarship information and application guidance to help students make informed decisions. Scholarship deadlines, funding arrangements, eligibility rules and application procedures can change after publication. This policy explains how readers can report a possible problem, how we review it and how corrections or material updates are handled.
Our aim is to correct meaningful errors clearly while preserving useful context for students who may have visited an earlier version of the page.
What is the purpose of this policy?
This policy applies to scholarship records, application guides, funding explanations, deadline pages, study-abroad resources and other editorial content published on FreshScholarships.com.
It explains:
- What readers can report
- What information should be included in a report
- Which sources we use to investigate it
- How different types of changes are handled
- How closed, paused or discontinued programs are presented
This policy does not guarantee that every reported concern will result in a correction. We first check the available evidence and determine whether the published information is inaccurate, outdated, unclear or still properly supported.
What can readers report?
Readers may contact us about any information that appears incorrect, outdated, incomplete or potentially misleading.
Examples include:
- An application deadline that has changed
- A scholarship marked open when applications have closed
- Incorrect eligibility, nationality or degree requirements
- A funding amount or benefit that does not match the current official terms
- Costs incorrectly described as covered
- A broken or outdated official application link
- A program that has been paused, renamed or discontinued
- Application documents or submission steps that have changed
- Wording that could cause readers to misunderstand a requirement
- A spelling, attribution, formatting or linking error
Students may also report conflicting information when two official pages appear to give different instructions.
How can a correction be submitted?
The easiest way to report an issue is through our Contact Us page.
Reports may also be emailed to:
Use a clear subject line such as:
Correction request: [Scholarship or page name]
Please do not send passports, identity cards, transcripts, application credentials, financial records or other sensitive personal documents. We normally need evidence about the published information, not personal evidence about an applicant.
What information should a correction report include?
A useful report should identify the problem precisely. Whenever possible, include:
- The Fresh Scholarships page URL
- The scholarship, university or program name
- The statement that may be incorrect
- The information you believe is correct
- A link to the relevant official source
- The date you accessed that official source
- A short explanation of why the change matters
Screenshots may help when an official portal changes frequently, but a link to the original source is still preferable.
A report containing only “this page is wrong” may be difficult to investigate. Clear evidence helps us review the issue more effectively.
How is reported information checked?
A correction is not made automatically because another website, social-media account or discussion group presents different information.
We first look for the most relevant primary source. Depending on the issue, this may include:
- The scholarship provider’s official website
- A university’s admissions or funding page
- A government or embassy portal
- The official application system
- Published program regulations
- A dated announcement from the responsible institution
- Written clarification issued by the provider
We compare the reported issue with the wording, date and context of the official material. We also check whether the source refers to the same scholarship, applicant group, degree level, country or application cycle.
If a claim cannot be confirmed, we may retain the existing wording, revise it to reflect uncertainty or state that current information has not yet been officially announced.
The scholarship provider or responsible institution remains the final authority for eligibility, deadlines, funding and selection decisions.
How are different changes classified?
We treat changes according to their effect on the reader.
Minor edits
Minor edits correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting or broken internal links without changing the meaning of the information.
These edits normally do not require a visible correction note.
Factual corrections
A factual correction fixes information that was inaccurate when published. Examples include an incorrect stipend, misstated eligibility condition, wrong deadline or inaccurate description of covered costs.
The page is corrected after the better-supported information has been confirmed. A visible note may be added when the original error could have materially affected an applicant’s decision.
Material updates
A material update reflects a genuine change made by the provider after our page was published. The earlier information may have been accurate at the time but is no longer current.
Examples include:
- A new application cycle opening
- A deadline being extended
- Funding coverage being revised
- Eligibility rules changing
- A program being paused or discontinued
Material updates are incorporated into the existing page where practical so that readers do not have to compare several duplicate articles.
How are changing deadlines and application cycles handled?
A deadline is checked against the application cycle to which it belongs. We do not assume that last year’s deadline will automatically apply to the next intake.
When a new call has not been announced, the page should distinguish between:
- A confirmed current deadline
- A historical deadline
- An expected application period based on earlier cycles
- No current deadline announced
Expected dates must not be presented as official deadlines. Students should always confirm the final date and time zone through the provider’s current application page.
If a provider extends or changes a deadline, the page may be updated once the change is supported by an official announcement or application portal.
How are closed, paused or discontinued scholarships treated?
These statuses are not interchangeable.
Applications closed means the program exists, but the current application window has ended.
Program paused means no current application round is operating, but the provider has not clearly ended the program.
No active call announced means a new intake has not been confirmed.
Program discontinued means reliable official information indicates that the opportunity has ended or been replaced.
A page may remain available when its historical context still helps readers understand the program or avoid outdated claims circulating elsewhere. Its status should be stated clearly, and it must not encourage readers to apply through an inactive route.
Where appropriate, we may direct readers to current alternatives without implying that those alternatives offer identical funding or eligibility.
Are correction notes and update dates displayed?
Fresh Scholarships may show a published, modified or reviewed date depending on the page type and website template.
Minor editorial edits are not normally recorded individually. A correction or update note should be considered when a change affects funding, eligibility, deadlines, application status or another detail that could materially influence a student’s decision.
Fresh Scholarships does not promise a separate public entry for every wording or formatting change.
What happens when official sources conflict?
Official pages sometimes contain different deadlines, funding figures or application instructions. This can happen when a general program page has not been updated but a current application portal contains newer information.
When official sources conflict, we consider:
- Which institution controls the decision
- Which source is most specific to the current cycle
- When each source was published or updated
- Whether one source applies to a different country, degree or applicant group
- Whether the provider has issued a later clarification
If the conflict cannot be resolved confidently, we state the uncertainty rather than selecting the more attractive interpretation. Readers may also be advised to request written clarification from the provider before making an important decision.
Does reporting an issue guarantee a change?
No. Every credible report is considered, but a page is changed only when the available evidence supports the correction or shows that the wording needs clarification.
Response and review times can vary depending on the issue, the availability of official information and whether the provider needs to clarify conflicting instructions. This policy does not promise a fixed response time.
